Maxine & Chris’s Eagles Nest Elopement

I met Chris on about day 2 at my last corporate job. We ended up being good friends, and I was so excited when he & Maxine asked me to photograph their wedding. The date was booked, and they were working on the final details when I got a phone call asking me for alternative dates, and whether I’d be ok to travel up the Garden Route with them rather than photographing the wedding in Cape Town.

Well, of course I said yes, and the plans for an intimate elopement were finalised. They booked the chapel at Eagles Nest for the service, and then planned an entire afternoon of stops for lunch, cake, photos, more photos, more photos and dinner. Including getting permission to get some photographs at the local Acrobranch! Did I mention that I’m insanely scared of heights? I didn’t? Well, I most definitely am, but I could see the photograph that I wanted to take, and up I climbed. It was totally worth it.
