Boschendal Wedding – Tim & Gaby
This was such a special wedding! A complete family affair.
Tim & Gaby got married on the lawns of the beautiful Boschendal wine farm in Franschoek. The rain threatened for a while, and then cleared just before the ceremony started. The sun broke through the clouds, and everything was perfect.
They opted for a morning wedding followed by a picnic lunch, and it couldn’t have been better planned. A lot of their friends have children, and they had organised kids picnic baskets for them all, as well as a kids corner filled with beanbags and hammocks, blankets to sit on, and lots of bubbles to play with. They even arranged to have pony rides for the kids, and (based on the look on my son’s face at least) this was a great surprise, and a wonderful idea.
Gaby and Tim’s son, Sebastian, was not only included in the day’s events, he was christened in the middle of the wedding service.
It was the first wedding that I had photographed where the rest of my family was involved in the wedding in some way too. My husband was a groomsman, and my son, the ring bearer (or as he says it, the ring master!).
Towards the end of the afternoon, I went to look for my hubby and son so that we could start heading home, and found them curled up on a hammock together! Definitely a sign of a day filled with fun, laughter and love xx
